Services and responsibilities required by the beekeeper:
Provide a written agreement that the beekeeper and landowner will sign to minimize liabilities of both parties.
To communicate with the landowner any problems with the colony and any other items not outlined in contract that may come up.
Hive placement in suitable location agreed upon by beekeeper and landowner.
Colonies placed will be of normal size and strength for normal pollination requirements and maintained in that way.
Maintenance of colony: Adding/removing hive bodies, checks on colony to be sure it is still sufficient for landowners needs.
Replacement of queen, if beekeeper believes it is needed. Feeding the colony, with honey or cane sugar syrup, if needed during inclement weather and to stimulate a buildup of the colony.
Replacement of frames if broken or in need of repair. Additions of brood, pollen or honey to colony if weak and needs a boost.
Will move the colony at the landowners request and cost.
By the end of the beekeeping year (mid September), up to 4 gallons of honey (approximately 48lbs) shall have been delivered to the landowner.
Honey will be delivered in half gallon containers.
Honey will be extracted on premises unless landowner choses to have it done elsewhere.
Honey will be filtered or non-filtered, depending on the desire of the landowner. Can do some of each as well.
Honey will be free of chemicals used to treat the bees for disease, parasites, insecticides and other chemicals, unless otherwise agreed upon by beekeeper and landowner.
